Carlos Morgado Foundation successfully completes the installation of Solar Giraffe in Saul 2, District of Metuge, Province of Cabo Delgado.
The community of Saul 2, a resettlement neighborhood following the armed conflict, which does not have access to energy from the national electricity grid, now relies on a Solar Giraffe to charge cell phones, listen to the radio and have access to public lighting.
The installation, financed by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), took place between the 1st and 2nd of December and had the support of five (5) members of the community.
The project is developed and implemented by the Carlos Morgado Foundation, in partnership with MWE - Mozambique Women of Energy, and installed its pilot project in Mangunze, Chongoene, Gaza in December 2020.
