The Carlos Morgado Foundation and the MozUp Enterprise Development Center led a meeting with the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) in Pemba.
The meeting held at MozUp as part of the ongoing project of MWE - Mozambique Women of Energy titled “Energized Hub as a vehicle for the Energy Transition and Empowerment of Women in Cabo Delgado,” supported by Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), with the aim of address the lack of access to information, clean energy, training and economic opportunities for women and girls in Cabo Delgado, with a special focus on host communities and internally displaced people in the Metuge district. The project proposes the installation of a Solar Giraffe in the village of Ntessa, Messanja, in addition to providing relevant training in technical, vocational, business and life skills. The project will also focus on supporting the creation of women- and youth-led social enterprises, offering diversified income opportunities and “green” jobs. This effort is fundamental to improving the quality of life and promoting sustainable development in the region.
