The books, published by the Carlos Morgado Foundation, were provided to the El Shaddai Community School, in Boane, and to the “Chapateca” literary project
The book delivery meeting was promoted by the Kaya Pico project, a community library, developed by the organizations: Fundação Carlos Morgado, APC - Associação Projecto Citizen and Associação Chapateca at Escola Comuntária El' Shaddai in Boane, in Maputo Province.
The books delivered were:
1. Poemetria – poetry book by Carlos Morgado
2. Novas Vozes Novas Estórias – anthology of the Carlos Morgado Literary Prize 2023
3. To the Cave of the Brave - children’s book by Bruno Morgado
4. Para a Caverna dos Corajosos– Portuguese version of the book by Bruno Morgado
Kaya Pico, a community library, was designed as a space for peace and dialogue, and aims to encourage the love of reading and learning. It also aims to promote Mozambican culture and open windows to the world. The library will be open to everyone in the community without distinction of race, religion, age or sex.
The inauguration of the social equipment is scheduled for May of this year.
