Favela United (www.favela-united.com), a non-governmental organization registered in the Netherlands, which develops football projects in Brazil, Mozambique and Côte d'Ivoire, will organize the Inclusive Football World Cup 2018 in Maputo, Mozambique. This special football Tournament will take place in one of the city’s largest communities “Bairro da Polana Caniço”.
The competition was based on three concepts:
The game | The competition was designed to challenge the young, on and off the field and creating a safe place where all of them could enjoy the freedom to play football.
Impact - Young Leaders | On and off the field, young people have gained basic skills, knowledge and tools to become "FU Life Captains" - champions of their own destinies. By sharing their experiences and knowledge with others, they will have a positive impact on the new generation of young people and they will become generators of change within their own communities.
Celebrating the Community | The Community is the key to this comprehensive program, as well as World Championship celebrations, music and dance to attract, inspire and create a positive inclusive influence on everyone. By giving the community the freedom to express themselves on and off the field, its members connect by making new bonds of friendship.
